CLUB COMPETITIONS

Annual competitions and trophies are as detailed below.

The Jubilee Trophy

Presented to the pair with the highest average of their best scores on specified club evenings during the club year (1 April to 31 March)

2007-8 Winners Derek Bland and Andrew Hutchinson

The Mike Rich Trophy

Awarded to a player below the rank of Master (if a member of the EBU) who shows the most improvement in scores compared with the previous year. A minimum of 10 scores in the previous year and a minimum of 30 scores in the current year are required to qualify.

2007-8 Winner Christine & Christopher Wright (Joint winners)

The Club Pairs Championship

This competition is for the pair with the highest average percentage score taking into account all scores during the year. To qualify a pair must have a minimum of 20 scores.

The DK Maxwell Trophy

For the pair who have the highest average percentage over the club year on specified evenings. The best 5 scores on such evenings count.

2007-8 Winners Pauline Jagger and Michael Comerford

The Alderson Trophies

The original trophies were donated by Mrs Margaret Alderson who was Honorary Life Vice President of the club. They are for the highest scoring lady and gentleman with scores over 30 sessions taking into account their handicap.

The Peggy Harwood Trophy

Introduced in memory of founder member Peggy Harwood. It is for the winner of and individual event held each year.

2007 Winner Frank Jones

The Nordale Pairs Trophy

An annual pairs trophy held on a club night. To qualify a member must have attended on a minimum of 4 times over the past year.

2007 Winners Phyllis Jones and Rachel Ritchie

The Joyce Dennis Memorial Trophy

A handicap trophy held in memory of Joyce. She particularly enjoyed a game on Friday’s and the competition in her memory is held on a Friday in late October.

A team’s of 4 competition held on a club night, often at short notice!
